Supervision

My job as a supervisor is to help you think, not tell you what to think.

My intention is to make sessions as relaxing, enjoyable and informative as possible - for both of us.

I'm a Qualified Coach Supervisor with an Accredited Diploma in Coaching Supervision.

I also have Coach Supervisor Specialization (CCS) accreditation with the ICF.

I’ve been coaching for over 9 years, am a PCC coach and have accumulated over 1,700 hours working with hundreds of very different clients.  Supervision has been a natural extension of my passion for coaching and I love the connection and learning available through it.

There are 3 key functions of supervision, available to help you as a professional coach navigate the world of coaching, your coaching business, your coaching clients and to better understand yourself as a coach.

Normative

purpose and direction

Helping you ensure you stay on track as a professional coach

This involves looking at the ‘norms’ of coaching, helping you review best practice to ensure you’re operating ethically and competently as a coach

Formative

professional development

Helping you learn & develop your coaching approach

This involves helping you ‘form’ your approach by refreshing and developing your skills, knowledge and awareness as a coach

Restorative

wellbeing

Helping you restore yourself as a coach

This involves helping you restore yourself mentally, physically and emotionally, enabling you to do your best work as a coach

Mentor Coaching

Mentor Coaching is a chance to explore your coaching and identify your strengths and development areas in order to increase your awareness, knowledge and skills as a coach, and ultimately optimize your coaching impact.

Mentor Coaching is a key part of CPD and a great opportunity to develop your coaching.

It's also a requirement for ACC renewal and attainment of PCC status with the ICF.

I'm a Qualified Mentor Coach with 4 years' experience helping hundreds of coaches.

I also have Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) accreditation with the ICF.

Mentor Coaching sessions involve 3 key stages, outlined below.

Stage 1 - Record & Evaluate a Coaching Session

Record a session with a willing client,

Listen to the session & evaluate it yourself,

Capture thoughts & questions and identify areas for focus in the Mentor Coaching session.

Stage 2 - Reviewing the Coaching Session Together

Submit the recording in advance of the session for Mentor Coach review,

Explore strengths & development areas together in the session in line with ICF core competencies.

Discuss drivers, themes & patterns in coaching to facilitate new insights.

Stage 3 - Written & Verbal Feedback

Verbal feedback shared within the session to help you deepen your understanding and grow as a coach.

Written feedback shared following the session, providing 1) an evaluation of your recorded session against ICF core competencies and 2) a summary of strengths & development areas identified together.

Client Testimonials

"I really appreciated Martin’s patience, lack of judgment, and honesty as a coaching supervisor. He’s a great coach and I always came away from our sessions with food for thought and my confidence boosted.

I’d highly recommend him!"

"I benefitted from some outstanding coach supervision from Martin. I was able to bring a wide variety of topics, ranging from a review of client coaching sessions to a discussion of the ways I am growing my coaching business. Martin approached each topic in a non-judgemental way, whilst offering me the wisdom of his experience and provoking new thinking. I gained confidence in my coaching approach and took away some critical actions for my business.

I highly recommend Martin’s coaching supervision services."

"Martin provided a wonderful blend of depth and practical clarity in our supervision sessions. His thoughtful questioning helped me articulate my coaching philosophy and identify the tensions. He created a reflective space where insights naturally emerged, with clarity to move forward with purpose. His supervision style perfectly modelled the kind of coaching presence I aspire to achieve with my own clients."

"Martin's supervision has been instrumental in helping me find the root cause of something I'd been struggling to know how to deal with for a while.  He helped me think deeply and find the real issues behind it - and I've already felt myself feel more comfortable and able to take the actions we'd discussed, enhancing my coaching practice."

“I’ve had a number of supervision sessions with Martin and have always come away with a clearer picture and a pathway through some of the ‘blockages’ I was feeling. I’d not had supervision before my time with Martin and it’s convinced me that this is something that I should invest in for the future for me and for the benefit of my clients”

"Having the space to enhance my own self awareness, and open up previously help blind spots has been absolutely brilliant. I've found confidence in my own judgement and highlighted skills I can enhance to be even better.

And it was fun!  I can't recommend Martin highly enough!"

"He created a safe, non-judgemental space where I felt very comfortable to be open and honest; and his experience made space for powerful reflection and the ability to challenge myself to be better."

"Martin gave me time and space to think about my coaching practice in a safe and non-judgmental way. He achieved a perfect balance of insightful questioning, astute observations and humour.

I can firmly recommend Martin to others looking for a coaching supervisor. "

"As a direct result of supervision, one of the best sessions I’ve had in this organisation followed. I asked the intuitive question that I think I would have avoided. This opened up the session into a very honest discussion around things that the coachee had not disclosed to anyone before. I truly felt that the session was transformational for the coachee and it could have been easily missed if I had steered away from that one question."
